PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Thickness is a genuine trade-off rather than simply better. A 10mm mat is considerably more comfortable for kneeling, supine and prone work, which is why it suits stretching, mobility, Pilates and core training. For standing balance postures in yoga, however, a thick mat is less stable, since the foam compresses under a single foot.

The non-slip surface matters as much as the padding. A mat that slides on laminate during a plank or a downward dog is actively unsafe, and cheap mats often have grip on one face only. Texture on both faces means the mat grips the floor as well as your hands.

TRAINING APPLICATION

A thick mat makes floor-based work sustainable: stretching and mobility sequences, Pilates, core training, glute bridges, dead bugs, foam rolling and cool-downs.
