Neoprene Dumbbells

Soft-coated, colour-coded and quiet. Neoprene dumbbells are the standard for class-based training, rehabilitation and high-repetition conditioning, where the priority is comfort in the hand and equipment that will not damage a studio floor or roll under a bench.

KEY FEATURES

Neoprene coating for a warm, non-slip grip without gloves
Anti-roll profile keeps bells where you set them down
Colour-coded by weight for fast selection in class settings
Floor-friendly and quiet, suitable for upstairs rooms
Ideal for toning, rehabilitation, aerobics and Pilates
Sold in pairs for immediate bilateral work

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Neoprene serves a specific purpose. The coating grips a dry or sweaty palm without knurling, which matters enormously in high-repetition work where a knurled steel handle would tear skin over dozens of sets. It is also warm to the touch, which is why neoprene dominates rehabilitation and older-adult exercise settings where cold cast iron is genuinely unpleasant to hold.

The format's ceiling is low by design. Neoprene dumbbells are typically produced in light increments because the coating and the moulded profile are not intended for heavy pressing. That is a feature rather than a fault. For a group exercise class, a Pilates studio or a physiotherapy clinic, a spread of light colour-coded pairs is far more useful than a small number of heavy bells.

TRAINING APPLICATION

These excel in high-repetition and controlled-tempo contexts: lateral raises, front raises, rear-delt flies, bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, weighted Pilates sequences and rehabilitation protocols for the shoulder and elbow. They also work well for loaded carries and marching drills in circuit formats, where a hex dumbbell's corners would be uncomfortable against the leg.

HOW TO CHOOSE?

Choose neoprene if your training is high-repetition, class-based, rehabilitative, or shared with users who need a comfortable grip. Choose hex dumbbells if you are pressing and rowing for strength, where you need heavier loads and a knurled handle. Many home gyms end up with both: a light neoprene spread for accessory and warm-up work, and hex or adjustable dumbbells for the heavy lifting.

FAQs

What is inside a neoprene dumbbell?

A cast iron core with a moulded neoprene coating bonded over it. The coating provides grip, colour coding and floor protection.

Are neoprene dumbbells suitable for building strength?

They are best for high-repetition and accessory work. For heavy pressing and rowing, hex or adjustable dumbbells offer the loads you need.

Will they mark a wooden floor?

The coating is far kinder to flooring than bare iron, which is why neoprene is standard in studios. They are also noticeably quieter.

Do they come as a pair?

Yes, these are supplied in pairs so you can train both sides immediately.

Questions & answers

Which weight neoprene dumbbells should I start with?

Neoprene Dumbbell Pairs run from 0.5 kg to 10 kg, which covers rehab, Pilates, aerobics and arm work. Choose by the movement: the lightest pairs suit shoulder rehab and high-repetition classes, the middle of the range suits curls and presses, and the top of the range suits rows. The range stops at 10 kg, so for squats, hinges and heavier rows move to Hex Dumbbell Pairs.

Are neoprene dumbbells sold singly or in pairs?

In pairs. Every Neoprene Dumbbell Pairs option is two dumbbells, so the 1 kg pair is two 1 kg dumbbells and the 5 kg pair is two 5 kg dumbbells, and the price shown is for the pair. Multi-pair sets of 6 to 8 kg, 6 to 9 kg and 7 to 10 kg are also listed; their exact contents are on the product page.

Which weights and colours are available?

Neoprene Dumbbell Pairs run 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 kg, with the price rising as the weight rises. Colours vary by weight: lighter pairs come in pink, grey, blue or purple, the 9 kg pair is red and the 10 kg pair black. Pick from the selector and the price for that pair is shown beside it.

How big are neoprene dumbbells?

Each Neoprene Dumbbell is 16 cm long and 7 cm across at 1 kg, 20 cm long and 9 cm across at 5 kg, and 25 cm long and 11 cm across at 10 kg. The Neoprene Dumbbell Tree Rack is sized for these heads if you want a graded set off the floor.

What are neoprene dumbbells made of?

A cast iron core with a moulded neoprene coating bonded over it. The coating gives a warm, non-slip grip without gloves, is colour-coded by weight and is kinder to floors and quieter than bare iron. Neoprene Dumbbells have hexagonal heads, so they do not roll when set down.

Neoprene or hex dumbbells: which should I buy?

Choose Neoprene Dumbbell Pairs for high-repetition class work, rehab, Pilates and shared use where a soft, warm grip matters. Choose Hex Dumbbell Pairs for pressing and rowing for strength, where you need loads above 10 kg and a knurled grip. Many home gyms end up with both.

Great colour!

Delighted with my purchase and very quick delivery

Well packed fast delivery best price arrived in perfect condition thankyou

The weights were exactly what I wanted and I was amazed that delivery was free from Lift Sets without any minimum purchase amount. I did receive a message saying they had tried to deliver but nobody was in, although I was home and nobody rang my doorbebell. However, it was easy to track my order and it was delivered the following morning. I have recommended Lift Sets to my exercise instructor.
