Hex Dumbbells

Rubber hex dumbbells sold in pairs, from 1 kg to 60 kg per dumbbell. Every option on this page is two dumbbells of the same weight.

Specifications

Weights: 26 pairs. 1, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7.5, 8, 9 and 10 kg, then 2.5 kg steps from 10 kg to 30 kg, then 5 kg steps from 30 kg to 60 kg.
Heads: cast iron core inside bonded natural rubber hex heads. Six flat faces, so the dumbbell does not roll. Low-odour rubber; wipe before first use.
Handle: chrome-plated (electroplated) steel, knurled and slightly contoured. 33.5 mm in diameter on every weight except the 2.5 kg and 3 kg, which are 28.5 mm.
Weight marking: moulded into every face of the head.
Weight tolerance: the weight marked on each dumbbell is its nominal weight. Individual dumbbells can vary slightly from that figure.

FAQs

Why do hex dumbbells have flat sides?

The hexagonal profile stops them rolling when set down, which keeps a training space safe and makes floor-based exercises such as renegade rows and push-up positions stable.

Are these sold as singles or pairs?

As pairs. Every weight on this page is priced and sold as a pair of two dumbbells.

Does the rubber protect my floor?

It substantially reduces impact and noise compared with bare iron, but it is not a substitute for proper flooring under heavy weights. Interlocking foam tiles or rubber matting are worth adding.

How should I care for them?

Wipe handles after each session to limit sweat corrosion, store them on a rack rather than the floor, and avoid dropping them from height.

Handle: Steel handle with chrome coating. It has a textured (knurled) grip and a slightly shaped design for comfortable holding.
Rust Protection: The electroplated chrome finish helps protect the handle from sweat, rust, and corrosion.
Weight Accuracy: The weight marked on each dumbbell is its nominal weight. Individual dumbbells can vary slightly from that figure.
Smell: Made with low-odour rubber, but it’s best to wipe them before first use.
Packaging: Delivered as a pair. Depending on the weight, a pair is packed either as one box or as two single-dumbbell boxes, each with its own tracking, so the boxes can arrive separately.
Dimensions: The handle is 33.5 mm in diameter on every weight except the 2.5 kg and 3 kg, which are 28.5 mm. The rubber heads get bigger as the weight increases — head height runs from 80 mm on the 2.5 kg to 205 mm on the 60 kg. Per pair. Every option on this page is two dumbbells: the 1kg pair is two 1kg dumbbells (2kg in total), the 20kg pair is two 20kg dumbbells (40kg in total). The pair weight is what the delivery bands use.

Which rack fits hex dumbbells?

The Hex Dumbbell Tier and Layer Storage Racks: the A3 tree holds 3 pairs, the A5 holds 5, the A6 holds 6 and the A10 holds 10, all rated by pair count with no kilogram rating published. How do I look after rubber hex dumbbells, and do I need flooring?

Is there a 32.5 kg hex dumbbell pair?

No. The hex range steps by 2.5 kg up to 30 kg and then by 5 kg (35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 kg), so the pair after 30 kg is 35 kg, a jump of about 17%. If 30 kg is getting easy at 12 reps, add reps and slow the tempo before taking the 5 kg step.

What weight steps do hex dumbbells come in?

1 kg steps at the light end (1, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7.5, 8, 9 and 10 kg), 2.5 kg steps from 10 to 30 kg, and 5 kg steps from 30 to 60 kg, 26 pair weights in all. Use the 1 kg steps where 2.5 kg is a big leap, and add reps and tempo at the heavy end where the steps are 5 kg.

Hex Dumbbell Pairs sells 26 single pair weights from 1 kg to 60 kg. Hex Dumbbell Sets sells graded sets of 3, 5, 6 or 12 pairs with the matching A3, A5, A6 or L3 rack included, plus two no-rack sets (2.5 to 30 kg and 2.5 to 60 kg); the dumbbells in a set are the same product as the individual pairs.

Do I need collars for hex dumbbells?

No. Hex dumbbells are fixed weights with a cast iron core bonded into rubber heads, so there is nothing to adjust, no plates to change and no collars to check. Collars are only needed on barbells and spinlock dumbbell kits.

Which pairs are available above 30 kg?

Knurled chrome handle

Chrome-plated steel with a knurled grip, 33.5 mm in diameter. The electroplated finish resists sweat and rust.
Six-sided rubber heads

A cast iron core inside a bonded natural-rubber hex head. The flat faces stop it rolling and take the impact instead of your floor.
Marked and weighed

The weight is moulded into every face of the head. The marked weight is nominal and individual dumbbells can vary slightly from it.
Sized per weight

Overall length runs from 260 mm at 2.5 kg to 480 mm at 60 kg, and head height grows from 80 mm to 205 mm across the range.
