EVA Foam Puzzle Exercise Mat

Adjustable Dumbbells
The smallest sensible complete free-weight kit. Twenty kilos of cast iron, two threaded handles and a connector bar, covering dumbbell and barbell training in a package that fits in a cupboard and costs less than a month of most gym memberships.
Twenty kilos sounds modest until you divide it by exercise. Split across two dumbbells it is roughly 10kg per hand, which is a real working load for lateral raises, curls, overhead press and rows for anyone new to structured training. Combined into barbell mode it is enough for Romanian deadlifts, bent-over rows and front squats performed with strict tempo.
This set is deliberately an entry point, and it will be outgrown. That is not a criticism, it is the design. The value is in removing every barrier to starting, and in the fact that additional standard one-inch cast iron plates are inexpensive, so the kit can be topped up rather than replaced for the first year or so of training.
Get the most from a light set by manipulating variables other than load. Slower eccentrics, paused reps, shorter rest periods and unilateral variations all increase difficulty without adding plates. A three-day full-body split built around goblet squats, floor press, bent-over row, Romanian deadlift and overhead press will keep a beginner progressing for months on 20kg, particularly with tempo work.
Choose this set if you are starting from zero, budget is the deciding factor, or you need something that disappears into storage between sessions. Choose the 30kg cast iron set or the 65kg set if you already train or expect to progress quickly, since topping up plates repeatedly costs more than buying the larger kit once. Add a mat if you are training on a finished floor.
Is 20kg enough to see results?
For a genuine beginner, yes, particularly with controlled tempo and short rest. Most people will want to add plates within a few months.
Can I add weight to this set later?
Yes. Standard one-inch cast iron plates are widely available and inexpensive, so the set can be topped up.
Does it include a bench?
No. It covers floor-based and standing work. A bench opens up incline and flat pressing.
