Understand the format's limits before buying, because they are real. These are standard one-inch spinlock handles, not Olympic two-inch sleeves, so the plates are not interchangeable with Olympic bars or bumper plates. The connector bar is also short compared to a true barbell, which restricts grip width on bench press and makes back squatting less comfortable than a 7ft bar would be.

TRAINING APPLICATION

In dumbbell mode the set handles bench press, shoulder press, bent-over row, curls and lunges. In barbell mode it opens up front squats, floor press, overhead press and Romanian deadlifts. Is the barbell long enough for bench press?

It is usable but short. Grip width is limited compared with a 7ft Olympic bar, so serious benching is better served by a full-length bar and rack.

Can I add more weight later?
