PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Handling is the underrated part of plate ownership. A 20kg bare cast iron disc has no grip point at all, so it gets pinched between fingertips and dropped on toes. Tri-grip plates solve that with three moulded cut-outs, which makes loading a bar at chest height on a rack meaningfully safer, and makes carrying two plates across a garage a non-event.

The rubber coating over a cast iron core adds floor protection and noise reduction, and it stops the iron rusting in a damp space. The trade-off against bare cast iron is thickness: a rubber-coated tri-grip plate takes more sleeve length per kilogram, which becomes a limitation only at genuinely heavy loads.

TRAINING APPLICATION

Beyond barbell work, tri-grip plates are useful implements in their own right. The handles make plate front raises, plate lunges, overhead carries, halo circles and plate-loaded step-ups straightforward, which is why they are common in functional and circuit settings.
