Description

Rowing recruits more muscle mass than any other cardio machine, roughly sixty-five percent legs, twenty-five percent core and ten percent arms. Ten resistance levels and a folding frame make this a serious conditioning tool that does not need a permanent room.

KEY FEATURES

  • Ten adjustable resistance levels for varied training
  • Full-body stroke: legs drive, core transfers, arms finish
  • Folding frame stores upright between sessions
  • Zero joint impact, suited to daily use
  • Performance monitor for stroke rate, distance and time
  • Adjustable footplates and straps for secure positioning

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The rowing stroke is unusual in being a genuine full-body movement performed sitting down. The legs drive first, the hips open, then the arms finish the pull, and the sequence reverses on the recovery. Because it engages such a large proportion of total muscle mass, rowing produces a very high cardiovascular demand while placing almost no impact stress on the joints.

Technique matters more on a rower than on any other cardio machine. The most common fault is pulling with the arms first, which turns a leg-driven movement into a back exercise and quickly causes lower back discomfort. The correct sequence is legs, then hips, then arms on the drive, and the exact reverse on the recovery.

TRAINING APPLICATION

Rowers suit both steady-state aerobic work and interval training. Standard intervals include 500 metre repeats, 250 metre sprints, or timed pieces of one to five minutes. The hinge and pull pattern also complements strength training directly, reinforcing the same posterior chain mechanics used in deadlifts and rows, which makes rowing effective active recovery.

HOW TO CHOOSE?

Choose a rower if you want the single most complete cardio machine and have floor length available, since rowers are long even when folded. Choose an air bike if space is very tight or maximal interval intensity is the priority. Choose a Ski exercise machine & rowing machine for upper-body emphasis. Measure your room length before ordering, as this is the specification people most often overlook.

FAQs

What is the correct rowing sequence?

Legs, then hips, then arms on the drive, and arms, hips, then legs on the recovery. Pulling with the arms first is the most common technique fault and causes lower back strain.

Does it fold away?

Yes, the frame folds for upright storage. Check the folded dimensions on the page against your storage space.

How much room does a rower need?

More length than most people expect, since the seat travels the full length of the rail. Measure your floor length before ordering.

Is rowing suitable for bad knees?

It is low impact, which generally suits joint issues, but the stroke involves deep knee flexion at the catch. Shorten the stroke if the catch position causes discomfort, and seek advice if pain persists.
